It seems that we have lost a lot of people that I've known for years in the past three weeks.  I guess it goes that way at times but it sure makes you realize your mortality.  I think I forget that I've got so old and so have my friends and a lot of them are much older than me.  I know we lost 11 people in 14 days and now three more.  Our community is small and so I guess it seems worse.  Now that I got that said I'll move on.

It has rained all morning.  Not just sprinkles either.  It RAINED.  I think it has stopped right now but we have 80 percent the rest of the day.  Wouldn't you know it.  The umbrella is in the car.  Do you think I'll melt?  I wish !!  I could lay in the yard and turn every so often so I'd come out even. LOL  Good idea but don't think that's going to happen.  Silly me.

I guess I'm going to eat out for lunch.  Mary Jane and I are going for Mexican food.  Yum !!  I shouldn't but I'm going to.  Why not?  It's there and so am I.

I have dishes to do so I guess I'd better go do them.  If I eat out I sure don't want to come and do dishes.  That defeats part of the purpose.

They finally decided that this building needed a new roof.  There are two buildings with 12 apartments in each.  They started on ours last week.  I think today is the final day on this one.  They like to start around 6 or 6:30 in the morning. (maybe I can sleep in tomorrow). Then because of heat in the afternoon they quit around 2:00.  I don't blame them.  I couldn't take that kind of heat even on the ground.  I'd melt and then die.  I have to admire those boys for working so hard that far off the ground anyway.  I don't like heights.  In other words, I couldn't be a roofer.  It's nice to know that it is done. YAY !!!

Now I hear we might get new storm doors.  They are putting in five at a time.  I really hope I get one.  Mine won't shut right and when it does shut it won't go completely shut without some persuasion.  We will see.  Maybe they will get on that next.

I went to a Kiwanis dinner Monday night.  They had a good catered fried chicken dinner.  We had people from at least five different towns attend.  I think they had a good time.  I think that will be my last one though.  I think it's time to do something else.  I haven't quit yet but it's in the future.

I hope you all have been doing well.  I know I haven't been on for a long time.  The digest doesn't come up for me anymore so i don't always think to look.
